A Spatial Science Professional with 14 years of experience in complex projects within Western Australia’s construction industry and research .Experienced at performing analysis and design with all types of digital data sets. Through time my career has changed from that of a GIS analyst working on State Government Department projects to an engineering construction surveyor. I have a experience which can only be gained from onsite exposure and training from Riegl and Z+F relating to their range of laser scanner products. Also involved with machine control system installation, site calibration and digital data generation.

Djuka Benic

Engineer of Geodesy

Djuka is an Engineering Surveyor with over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Educated at the Department of Geodesy in Belgrade he has been working since 1975 throughout Australia. For the last 20 years Djuka has been working as a survey contractor guiding other survey parties on some high profile infrastructure projects in Western Australia; always staying on top by utilizing the latest modern technologies. Djuka participated in projects like the Perth Southern Metrorail Infrastructure Project, Aline East Great Eastern Hwy Redevelopment, AKCMR Boddington Gold Mine Expansion, RIO Tinto Brockman 4 Railway and MESA A Mine Infrastructure Expansion projects and Apache Devil Creek Infrastructure project to name a few. Today Djuka’s role in WAPS is mainly internal staff trainings, tender preparations as well as general part time company guidance. His widely respected and regarded knowledge in the industry is a benefit to all staff and clients.

Samir has over 25yrs proven industry experience in managing large civil infrastructure projects both in Australia as well as overseas. Current professional positions include: Executive Director of The 8 Construction Pty Ltd as well as Deputy Project Director at Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd in Malaysia and Operations Manager for Stabilise Pavement Sarawak, Malaysia. His past experiences in Australia have been as Operations Manager for Downer, PLWA Group, Cimeco and Brierty helping manage a wide range of civil and mining projects throughout Western Australia. Samir brings extensive industry experience in joint venture establishments, strategic business planning, sales and new business development, operations management, multi-disciplinary project management, project civil engineering, risk mitigation, cost estimates as well as contract and tender management duties. It is his vast industry contacts that will ensure that WA Precision Surveys maintains a presence in future infrastructure projects throughout the state.
